Career Journey Of Thalapathy Vijay
When Vijay was 10 years old, he started his acting career as a child actor in the Tamil movie Vetri, produced by P. S. Veerappa, in 1984. His first lead role came in Naalaiya Theerpu in 1992.
In 1996, he starred in Poove Unakkaga, directed by Vikraman, which he considers his big breakthrough and the film that first made him popular. In 2003, after his action-romance film Thirumalai, Vijay starred in Ghilli with Trisha and Prakash Raj, directed by S. Dharani.
In 2010, he reached a milestone with his 50th movie, Sura, an action-comedy. In 2012, he starred in Nanban, a successful remake of the Hindi movie 3 Idiots. In 2017, his action thriller Mersal became his first film to earn over ₹250 crore, marking a big commercial success.
In 2023, Vijay starred in the action-drama film Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, which became a commercial hit and earned over ₹300 crore at the box office.
